The Lakeside DFW Plan will be on display again tonight (Thursday) and Saturday for review by Flower Mound residents. Architectural styles were a hot topic at Wednesday night’s session.
| Thursday, February 9, 4:30 – 6:30
| Saturday, February 11, 10:30 – noon
The presentations are taking place at the historic Lakeside house on the southern end of the property.
Click here for a map, which will take you to the entrance of the driveway; then follow the signs to the house.
Last night’s participants provided a surprising piece of input: nearly all preferred a Mediterranean architectural style for project (contrary to the best thinking of the Lakeside DFW Team).
As a result, we have included a poll on the front page (left-hand sidebar) to solicit more input on this subject.
The outpouring of opinions is helping create a plan that will reflect the best of Flower Mound.

I agree with Violet.

You are absolutely right about Mediterranean styles and colors. They vary widely inside Italy and certainly a great deal from Spain to Greece.
We will try to assemble representative samples of each style and place them on the web site to help people visualize the various styles and their various offshoots.
It would be great to have sample pictures of the architectural options when voting for the different styles. I also like Mediterreanean style, but, my vision is entirely different from the brightly colored picture you posted. Now, I’m not sure I want to vote for it! I like the stone mixed with stucco look, but not the bright colors! I wonder if other people feel the same. Maybe each person voting for Mediterreanean has a different idea of what that style really looks like. I remember viewing the homes on the cliffsides of the Italian & French Riviera on a recent trip & they are lovely, Many were stone &/or stucco, but more neutral colors or softor tones of colors.
